Through an initial site visit, Olsson Roofing representatives discovered that fasteners had loosened, joints were gapping and flashings had deteriorated. Olsson recommended a new EPDM fully adhered system be installed over the metal roof for ease of installation and extended system life. Olsson crews began at the high point of the building and worked to the low point to complete the recover. Insulation was installed into the flutes of the deck to flatten the surface. Next an additional hardboard insulation was installed over the first layer of insulation and then mechanically attached to the metal deck. Finally, a new 60 mil fully adhered EPDM roof system was installed over the new insulation. New flashings were installed at the mechanical openings and stacks and new perimeter metal was attached. The Olsson crew completed the job in the span of two weeks without any disruption to Fox River Lanes day-to-day business.
